What Makes Our Kitchen Remodels Different?
“Design + Build + Project Management — all under one roof.”
Most contractors push you into picking materials from whatever they get a discount on.
We do the opposite.
We start with how you use the space.
We ask:
Do you cook every night?
Do your kids do homework on the island?
Do you host family every Friday night?
Because your lifestyle determines your layout.
We design kitchens around people — not blueprints.

A Real Los Angeles Remodel: Reseda, Lorne Street
One of our favorite transformations happened on Lorne Street in Reseda. The homeowners had a very small kitchen—tight layout, old appliances, and plumbing headaches that kept returning no matter how many times they “fixed” it. The sink clogged constantly, there was no water line to the refrigerator, and because the kitchen was boxed in by walls, there was no room for an island.
Cooking never felt enjoyable—it was cramped, dark, and disconnected from the rest of the house.
Ido walked the space himself on the first visit. He noticed right away that the wall between the kitchen and dining room didn’t carry load, and he suggested something bold:
“Let’s remove the wall and open the entire space—kitchen, dining and living—into one beautiful open-concept floor plan.”
Once demolition started, everything changed.
With the wall gone, we gained the space needed to build a large, functional island right at the heart of the new open layout—room for prep, storage, and four comfortable chairs for family and friends to gather. We resolved all plumbing issues, snaked and replaced the problematic lines, and added a dedicated water connection to the refrigerator, so filtered water and ice were finally easy and convenient.
New quartz countertops were fabricated with a sleek waterfall edge on the island. Modern pendant lighting was installed above it, giving the entire space a warm, upscale glow. Behind the open shelving, we added a washable designer wallpaper—a subtle detail that made the room feel custom and unexpectedly luxurious.
The homeowners still say the same thing every time we visit:
“It feels like we live in a new house.”
What used to be a cramped, frustrating kitchen became a bright, open, sophisticated gathering space where everyone ends up—morning, night, and especially when hosting.

Kitchen Countertops (Quartz, Quartzite, Marble, Porcelain Slab)
Countertops are usually the first thing people notice when they walk into a kitchen.
They set the tone — modern, warm, bold, sleek, timeless.
But more importantly, your countertops should fit the way you live.
At I Do Remodeling, we guide you through selecting the right material based on real life — not what a showroom wants to sell you.
Quartz
Quartz is the most popular choice for Los Angeles homeowners because it’s beautiful and low-maintenance. It doesn’t stain, doesn’t require sealing, and is perfect for families or people who cook often. If you want a clean, modern look with durability that holds up to daily use, quartz is your best friend.
Quartzite
Quartzite is a natural stone — not to be confused with quartz. It has the elegance of marble with much better scratch and heat resistance. If you love the look of natural veining and want something premium but durable, quartzite is an excellent choice.
Marble
Marble is a statement. It’s elegant, luxurious, and instantly elevates the space. It does require more care and develops a natural patina over time, which many homeowners actually love because it tells a story. If you're designing a show-stopping kitchen in Beverly Hills, Malibu, Brentwood, or anywhere with high-end aesthetics — marble fits that look.
Porcelain Slab
Porcelain is becoming huge in modern Los Angeles kitchens. It allows for full-height slab backsplashes, and even book-matched walls behind the hood. It’s ultra-heat resistant and gives a seamless, “magazine” look. If you want sleek modern minimalism, porcelain is the future.
Kitchen Tile & Backsplash Installation
Tile and backsplash are where personality and design style come alive. We help homeowners select materials that enrich the visual story of the kitchen.
In Studio City and Silver Lake, we see a strong demand for hand-made Zellige tile — each piece slightly imperfect and full of character. In West LA and the South Bay, the preference leans toward sleek porcelain slab backsplashes for a magazine-worthy modern look. No matter the material, we focus on the visual impact of layout, pattern, and proportion.
A vertically stacked tile pattern can make a small kitchen appear taller, while a chevron or herringbone backsplash adds subtle movement without overwhelming the space.
Our master installers plan every detail — from grout color to tile edge finishing — because the small decisions are what elevate the entire space. A backsplash isn’t an afterthought; it’s the artistry of the kitchen.
KITCHEN LIGHTING DESIGN (WHAT MAKES A KITCHEN FEEL LUXURIOUS)
Lighting is the most overlooked element of a kitchen remodel and one of the easiest ways to make a space feel expensive. In Los Angeles, lighting also has to comply with Title 24 energy requirements, and we handle that process from start to finish. We design a layered lighting system that eliminates shadows and creates mood. Recessed LED lights brighten the space evenly, pendant lights over the island introduce warmth and personality, and under-cabinet lighting illuminates the countertop work area so prep and cooking are effortless. To elevate luxury projects in Brentwood, Calabasas, and Bel Air, we often add toe-kick lighting — a soft glow under the lower cabinets that acts as a built-in nightlight and makes the kitchen look like it’s floating.
The right lighting doesn’t just enhance your design — it makes your kitchen feel alive.
A successful kitchen isn’t just photogenic—it’s relaxing to use at 7:30 a.m. on a school day and 7:30 p.m. when friends drop in. Drawers glide. Lights dim. The trash is exactly where you reach for it. The island doesn’t bottleneck. That’s what our clients notice most after move-in: the small, thoughtful decisions that make daily life smoother.
Kitchen Flooring: Durable underfoot, beautiful to the eye
Kitchens are high-traffic zones. We help you choose flooring that fits your lifestyle—engineered hardwood for warmth and flow into living spaces, luxury vinyl for maximum water resistance without looking plasticky, or large-format porcelain for a cooler, contemporary feel. We handle transitions to existing floors cleanly, correct subfloor issues, and install with the right underlayment to minimize sound and maximize longevity.
Kitchen Layout & Space Planning: Every inch with a job
Square footage in L.A. is precious. Our designers study your circulation patterns and create a plan that lets two people cook without shoulder checks. We optimize work triangles or, in modern layouts, smart “work zones” so prep, cooking, and cleanup don’t collide. If your current kitchen feels tight, we’ll explore opening a wall, stealing space from a closet, or reshaping an unused breakfast nook into a walk-in pantry. The goal isn’t just “open”—it’s “open and useful.”
Islands & Kitchen Storage: The home’s busiest landing zone
An island is the hub of the modern kitchen—prep space, homework desk, charcuterie board during New Years Eve, and landing zone after a Trader Joe’s run. We proportion islands so stools tuck naturally, traffic flows around them, and drawers open without conflict. Inside the cabinets, we add full-extension drawers, tray dividers, spice pullouts, trash and recycling stations, and corner solutions that end the deep-cave problem. The result: everything has a place, and you spend less time hunting and more time cooking.
Kitchen Appliances in Los Angeles: Integrated, measured, and vented right
We plan appliances early to avoid surprises. That means measuring real-world clearances, confirming electrical or gas requirements, and ensuring your fridge doors open fully without hitting walls. For a modern, seamless look, we can panel-ready dishwashers and fridges to match your cabinetry. If you love to cook, we’ll talk realistically about BTUs, induction vs. gas, and how that choice affects ventilation and circuit loads in older Los Angeles homes.
If you’re ready for a kitchen that feels tailor-made for how you live—from weekday breakfast to weekend hosting—I Do Remodeling is ready to design and deliver it. Tell us what isn’t working today, and we’ll show you what’s possible tomorrow.
Kitchen Hood & Ventilation: Quiet power you’ll actually use
Good ventilation protects cabinets, paint, and indoor air. We size the hood to your range, route ductwork correctly, and keep noise levels in the “you can talk over it” range. If you’re switching to induction, we’ll adjust the spec to match heat output and cooking style. In multifamily buildings or tight lots common in L.A., we’ll design vent runs that respect code and your neighbors.
Kitchen Plumbing & Electrical Upgrades: The invisible essentials
Behind every beautiful kitchen is infrastructure that works. We often replace aging supply lines, move gas safely, re-pipe for relocated sinks, and upgrade electrical to meet current code—especially in older houses. GFCI protection, arc-fault breakers, and dedicated appliance circuits aren’t add-ons; they’re the backbone of a safe, modern kitchen. We pull the proper permits and coordinate city inspections so you can trust what’s inside the walls as much as what’s on them.
Kitchen Paint, Wallpaper & Finishes: The final layer of calm
Color changes everything. We help you choose a palette that makes the kitchen feel open and cohesive with the rest of your Los Angeles home. Our painters use pro-grade primers and topcoats designed for kitchens, where wipeability matters. Hardware is the jewelry—matte black for contrast, satin brass for warmth, or stainless for a timeless, professional tone. We install with care so handles line up perfectly and doors close flush.
